A metal part has broken - A weld shows issues - A material corrodes faster than expected - A certificate does not seem right - Your customer wants an independent analysis.

Describe the problem to us. We will determine which tests are needed to reach an answer.

From problem to investigation plan

1. You tell us what happened:
What went wrong? What was the material used for? What do you ultimately want to know?

2. We determine what information is needed:
Depending on the situation, chemical analysis, PMI, hardness, metallography, mechanical testing, or corrosion investigation may be relevant.

3. We carry out the appropriate tests:
We perform the analyses that fall within our own capabilities. For specialized investigations, we collaborate with selected partner laboratories.

4. You receive a clear result.

Which problems can you come to us for?

  • Unknown alloy: You want to know the composition of your metal.

  • Material certificate: You want to verify whether a delivered material matches the specified quality.

  • Material defect: A metal component behaves differently than expected.

  • Fracture / failure: A metal component has broken, and you want to investigate whether chemical composition plays a role.

  • Corrosion: You want to know which material was used or what additional investigations are required.

  • Weldability: You want to determine the chemical composition and potentially the carbon equivalent before welding.

  • Material mix-up: Different alloys have been mixed up or incorrectly marked.

  • Production problem: A production batch deviates, and you want to know if the material could be the cause.

Collaboration with specialized laboratories

Metal Spark does not have to perform every test itself.

For specific mechanical, metallographic, and corrosion-related investigations, we collaborate with specialized laboratories.

Possible additional tests include:

  • Tensile testing

  • Impact testing

  • Bend testing

  • Hardness

  • Metallography

  • Microscopic examination

  • Macroscopic examination

  • Corrosion testing

  • Heat treatment

  • Radiographic testing

  • Ultrasonic testing

  • Crack inspection

  • Leak testing

Single point of contact for your material question

You do not need to search for five different laboratories yourself.
